About the Company

Amerikanska Gymnasiet in Gothenburg is now looking for an experienced and dedicated teacher in economics who wants to work in a study environment with clear structure, high expectations, and close relationships between teachers and students. The position is suitable for those who have worked for a few years in the profession and thrive in a school where the teacher's role is clear, active, and central to students' development.

Amerikanska Gymnasiet is an independent upper secondary school with college preparatory programs and a distinct pedagogical idea. The school combines Swedish upper secondary tradition with elements of international high school culture. The focus is on study peace, responsibility, and clear mentorship where each student should be seen and challenged to reach their full potential.

Your Responsibilities

As a teacher in economics, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on teaching within the subject with high demands for clarity, structure, and quality. A central part of the assignment is to build trusting and long-term relationships with students, where you create motivation, security, and study peace in the classroom through presence, clarity, and engagement. You systematically work to develop students' subject knowledge, analytical skills, and understanding of economic connections. An important part of the assignment is to be a mentor and follow students' academic situations over time, in close collaboration with colleagues and student health.

The work takes place in a context where collaboration is central. You are expected to contribute to the school's common working methods, participate in pedagogical development, and be a present adult in the school day. The school values teachers who are professional and relationship-building, who actively work to get to know their students and build trusting relationships. You are confident in your leadership and see structure and clear frameworks as support for both students' development and the quality of teaching.

Your Profile

We are looking for a licensed teacher in economics who has experience teaching at the upper secondary level. You have a clear ability and willingness to work closely with relationships and see the relationship between teacher and student as a prerequisite for learning and good academic results. You have a clear pedagogical leadership and a good ability to create study peace. You are comfortable collaborating closely with colleagues and are open to teaching with elements of English, or alternatively have an interest in developing this.
